5 easy hacks for finding the cheapest flights

I have previously touched on tips for finding cheaper flights but in this post I want to talk about some hacks. These are just 5 easy hacks for finding the cheapest flights. These are all simple and can significantly alter the price of your airfares.

Finding cheap flights

1. Clear your cookies

Before you start looking for fights clear your cookies. Airlines can use your cookies to see what kind of fares you are looking for and what you have previously searched for and increase the prices accordingly.

2. Incognito mode

Open a new window in incognito mode. Incognito mode can keep your search history private from airlines by erasing your browsing history and tracking cookies.

3. Use local currency

Rather than paying in your currency always pay in the local currency. When a rate has to be converted to another currency it can significantly increase the price of the flights.

4. VPN

Use a Virtual Private Network to mask your computer’s IP address. Often fares are cheaper in countries with lower living standards and costs. If you don’t have a VPN you could also purchase tickets through another site from the same airline. Airlines tend to have a website for different regions, www.koreanair.com, koreanair.co.kr etc.

5. Shop around

Don’t just stick to one website. Look across multiple booking sites like Skyscanner, Kayak, Momondo and Google Flights. Also, search on airline websites, sometimes they offer the best deals.
